How do you make tea without using bags?
I have been getting into brewing my own kinds of tea , mainly by adding things after the initial brewing , but certain kinds of ingreidiants cant be added after brewing such as orange blossom and ginger. How do I make tea without ( At least Im assuming thats how you make tea with solid ingriediants added in) using the bags? Do I put it through a strainer or something?
The commonest way of making tea using loose ingredients would put these into the pot with the water and then strain them out using a tea strainer when pouring into the cup. A less often used method involves a “tea egg”, which is a device that has two hinged halves made of metal with small holes in them. You put the tea or other ingredients inside, then close the egg and use it in the pot to brew the tea, so not needing a strainer when pouring into the cup. You could also use a paper or cloth filter bag like those for coffee. I have seen a cloth bag used in that way in Malaysia.
