insulated tumblers

Can I use a “warm” insulated tumbler for cold drinks?
I’d like to cut down on what I’m using, and I don’t really want to buy two tumblers for hot and cold drinks. What are your opinions/experiences with that?
It depends on the lining. If it’s lined with a glass insert which will come in contact with the food, the answer is YES. Glass is best in my opinion but care is needed not to drop the container.
If it’s lined with stainless steel, YES.
If the lining of the thermos is plastic, NO because from my experience, once you use it for something hot, it’s not really possible to get clean or the residual odors out again. Also there is a health risk involved when using plastics to hold foods.
I had a plastic lined thermal container which I used for coffee which I would never use again knowing what I know now about the fact that under heat, harmful chemicals from the plastic transfers to the food. (Bisphenol) I used the plastic lined thermal container only for coffee and washed it with hot soapy detergent because I didn’t like the coffee stain and coffee odor that wouldn’t come out with plain hot water. After that, I could no longer use it for coffee because my coffee would smell like detergent.
