Clear molding material?
I need to make a model for one of my college classes of a glass teapot that I designed. I was thinking of making a mold from clay and then pouring some type of clear material or resin into it and swirling it around to make a thin coating, then once the material was dried I would peel the clay off.
Is there a clear molding material for this that I can buy at an art store or something?
You can do it. I am working on such a project right now.
Resin is thick though you won’t be able to swirl around like water.
I covered my form with latex for easy release,, then I coated resin with brush and added fiberglass mat. As long as you can pull your clay off, you are ready to roll. Resin is also toxic, need to wear protective mask in a ventilated room.
